If you reject cookies, we will not set any cookies on your device, except “strictly necessary” cookies which are essential in order to enable you to use our Services, such as authentication cookies to identify you once you’ve logged in and a cookie to remember that you do not want any cookies set when you revisit the Services. Types of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies at Snapfish
  • Session and Persistent: We use session and persistent cookies. Session cookies exist only during one session. They disappear when you close your browser, restart, or turn off your device. Persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser, restart, or turn off your device.

  • Advertising: We partner with third-parties to manage our marketing, advertising, and other promotional activities. Our third-party partners may use cookies and other tracking technologies in order to market products or the Services, manage promotional campaigns, monitor which ads have been served to your browser, which webpages you were viewing when such ads were delivered, and provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. For more information on interest-based advertising, please see the “Interest-Based Advertising” section below.

    • Facebook Pixel: With your prior consent, we use Facebook Pixel. This pixel collects information about the usage of our website (e.g. products you have looked at) and transmits this information to the social network Facebook, Inc. Facebook uses this information for advertising and profiling purposes. The Facebook Pixel allows us to target you with personalized advertisements in the Facebook network. If you want to stop this tool from collecting data, you can opt-out here.

    • AdRoll Analytics: We use AdRoll to set cookies and collect information from your browser across the web. This information is used to better understand your interests in order to select and deliver relevant advertising and offers, manage the frequency of ads you see, provide measurement and reporting to advertisers like us about the performance of their ads, and help AdRoll and us better understand web audiences. To learn more about AdRoll privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms, please visit the AdRoll Group Website Privacy Notice here.

  • Transactional and Functionality

    • Server Logs: We use cookies and other tracking technologies (i.e., scripts, tags) to collect and store your IP address, IMEI device number, pixels, and device information in server logs to support the functionality of our Services and provide information to you that is relevant and error free.

    • Device Identifiers: When you access our Services through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store such device identifiers as “universally unique identifiers (UUID)”. These are small data files stored on or associated with your device. This may be used to help you log in faster and enhance your navigation of the Services. These device identifiers also collect your location data, to provide you with location-based services such as retail store locations near you that enable you to print your photos, only when you consent to location services.

    • Transaction Identifiers: When you use our Services, we may access, collect, or store transaction identifiers, an internal identification number that we assign to our customers. This enables us to understand and review your transactions with Snapfish.

  • Analytics

    • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure how you interact with our Services and to improve your user experience. To learn more about Google Analytics privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Google Analytics Security and Privacy principles page here. Google also provides instructions on opting out of Google Analytics here.

    • Facebook Analytics: We use Facebook Analytics to measure how you interact with our Services and to improve your user experience. To learn more about Facebook Analytics privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Facebook Data Policy page here.

    • Heap Analytics: We use Heap Analytics to measure how you interact with our Services and to improve your user experience. To learn more about Heap Analytics privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Heap Analytics Trust Center page here.

    • Adobe Analytics: We use Adobe Analytics to measure how you interact with our Services and to improve your user experience. To learn more about Adobe Analytics privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Adobe Privacy Center page here.

To learn more about Fabric privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Fabric Privacy Policy page here.

    • Monetate: We use Monetate as a messaging engine to push relevant messages, product recommendations, offers, and creative content on our website. Monetate helps us quickly assemble data from a variety of sources into a complete view of our customer that can power targeted omnichannel experiences in real-time. To learn more about Monetate privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms please visit the Monetate page here.

    • Branch: We use Branch to send analytics on mobile devices to measure how you interact with our Services and to improve your user experience. To learn more about Branch privacy practices and opt-out mechanisms, please visit the Branch Privacy Policy here.

  • Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

    • Services Functionality: Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier used to track the online movements of website users. Snapfish uses clear gifs in combination with cookies to help us better manage content of the Services by informing us what content is effective.

    • Affiliate Programs: We also use clear gifs to support affiliate programs administered by third-party companies. These programs allow other web services to offer special Snapfish deals to their customers. When a customer signs-up for the Services via an affiliate link on a non-Snapfish website, we display a clear gif which causes a cookie to be passed to the third-party administrator for accounting purposes. That means, for example, that if a person visited the website for “company Z,” and from that website clicked on a “Sign-up for Snapfish” link and completed the Snapfish sign-up process, we would display a clear gif causing a cookie to be transferred to the affiliate program administrator. This cookie contains an ID number that tells the third-party administrator that a new user was sent to Snapfish from the “company Z” website.

    • HTML Emails: We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by the recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

Interest-Based Advertising

At times, we display ads both on our Services and on the websites of third parties. When you visit our Services or view ads that we serve elsewhere online, you may see different kinds of ads, such as text ads next to search results or video ads on web pages. Sometimes, these ads are based on the content of the pages on which they appear. At other times, these ads are generated by matching the particular ad to your interests as inferred from your online activities that have been collected over time. With interest-based advertising, the goal is to show you ads that are most relevant to you.

To do this, we, and third parties we authorize to do so, use technologies such as cookies and web beacons to collect information about your interaction with our Services and other third-party websites (“Online Data”). This Online Data generally does not identify you to us personally and, typically, it is aggregated with other data to create segments – groups of users and certain general interest categories that we have inferred based on a variety of factors (for example, “sports fan”). The Online Data can include:

  • The webpages and products you view and links you click when using our Services and third-party websites;
  • Our e-mails that you view and links you click on within that e-mail;
  • Whether you view or click on ads that are shown to you;
  • Demographic or interest data, including general geographic location derived from IP address; and
  • The search terms you enter when using certain search services.

We and third parties use this Online Data to paint a more accurate picture of the interests of the audiences with which we interact so that we can serve ads that are more relevant to those interests. If you would like to learn more about this practice and your choices, please visit the Network Advertising Initiative website here.

Consumers like to receive interest-based ads for many different reasons. Interest-based ads are helpful because they are more tailored to your particular interests and they are more likely to help you discover new products and services that are actually relevant to you and your interests. You also will not see the same ads over and over from us because the number of times you see a particular interest-based ad is limited. By opting-out of interest-based ads, you lose these benefits.

If you are no longer interested in receiving interest-based ads, you can opt-out by contacting us using the information below. Please note, however, that opting-out does not mean you will no longer see ads from us online. It simply means that the online ads that you do see from us will not be based on your particular interests.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to access one convenient place to indicate your preferences, including the option to make one “universal” opt-out of interest-based advertising with participating entities. For example, in the United States, you can visit this site: Ad Choices. In the EU, you can visit this site: Your Online Choices. When you opt-out using these methods, a cookie will be placed on your device indicating that you have opted-out of interest-based advertising. If you delete your cookies, you will need to opt-out again. These websites also provide detailed information about interest-based advertising and tips for managing your online privacy.

How to Manage Your Cookies

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, or through the opt-out links provided above. We also note that your mobile phone and your computer may have ways of activating a limited tracking system. If you reject or delete cookies, some features of our Services may no longer function as intended.

Each browser provides different mechanisms for managing cookies. Look at your browser’s help menu to determine the best way to modify your browser’s cookie storage. For more information about how to control or delete cookies, visit www.aboutcookies.org.

Please note that we may use so-called opt-out cookies in order to remember your opt-out selection. This cookie relates to a specific device or browser and is thus valid only for the device or browser used at the time of your selection. If you use several devices or browsers, you must opt-out on every device and in every browser used.
